S-70 - UH-60L Blackhawk model helicopter |
| The
UH-60 Black Hawk has been operational in the United States Army since 1978.
The Prototype of this helicopter was first flown on October 17, 1974, and
production helicopters entered service in 1979. The Army has introduced
a variety of versions into service for assault, Medevac, electronic warfare,
and special operations. By 1993 a total of 1,816 H-60/S/70s had been built
for customers in 20 nations. The UH-60 was powered by two 1,560 shp General
Electric turboshaft engines, giving the helicopter a maximum cruising speed
of approximately 210 mph. Helicopter armament is M134 Miniguns |
